Welcome to Hillview Christian Church, our mission is "Loving God, Loving People, and Serving Both". This is a place where you can grow in your faith and connect with a community of believers who are passionate about serving others. We are dedicated to spreading the love of Christ and making a positive impact in our local area.
Leadership at Hillview Christian Church follows the structure and example of the early church described in the New Testament, our church is led by a group of men called “elders”. The elders, together with the ministry staff, comprise the Leadership Team.
Our leadership team is committed to guiding and supporting our church family. They are here to pray for you, provide spiritual guidance, and help you navigate life's challenges. Mark Love
Mark has been a member of Hillview since 2003 and has served as an elder since September of 2013. He completed his Associates in Sacred Literature degree from Summit Theological Seminary in February 2024. Mark enjoys preaching, teaching and in-depth Bible studies. Mark and his wife Judy have been married since 1980 and enjoy spending time with their two daughters, four grandchildren and their families, which includes five great grandchildren.
Larry Smith

Larry Smith has served as an elder at Hillview for 20+ years. He and his wife, Eva, have been married since 1985. Together, they have raised two children, Lindsay Andry and Mathew Devin Smith, and are blessed with four grandsons: Charles, Finn, Bennett, and Knox Andry. Larry is a retired sawmill owner/operator with an impressive 41-year career and has devoted his time to mission work in Honduras, Brazil Tanzania, and Haiti. He is a past board member of Mission USA and currently serves on the board of directors for the English Civics Club. Larry's life verse is Romans 5:8, which reflects his commitment to faith and service.
Ed Beedle

Ed was ordained as an elder in March 2025. He an his wife, Linda, have been married since August 1978. Together they have raised two children, Kristen and Mark. They are blessed with five grandchildren: four boys - Jacob, Ben, Elijah, and Josiah, and a grand daughter - Avery. Ed is a retired pastor having served congregations throughout Indiana for twenty-seven years. Ed has served on mission teams to Tanzania twice, the Philippines once, and the White Mountain Apache Reservation three times. Ed traveled to Beijing, China; Seoul, South Korea; and Kenya in pursuit of his Doctor of Ministries degree which he received in 2017. Ed and Linda live in Palmyra close to their daughter and son-in-law and their three children. Ed’s life verse is Matthew 28:18-20.

Paul joined the staff at Hillview Christian Church as the Senior Minister in April of 2016 and was ordained as an Elder in March of 2025. Paul has served in ministry in varying capacities since January of 2004. His ministry positions have included student, associate, and lead minister roles. In 2009 Paul started an outdoor ministry called Without Excuse Ministries. Paul has been featured as the key note speaker across the country at wild game dinners, outdoor expos, and men’s retreats through his efforts at Without Excuse Ministries. You can visit Paul’s outdoor ministry at www.withoutexcuseministries.org Paul and his wife Lisa have been married for 28 years and have 8 children ranging in ages from 24-9 and 2 grandchildren with one more on the way. There is never a dull moment around the Walerczak household. Paul and his wife Lisa have lived in Southern Indiana for 40 plus years and enjoy serving the people of Crawford County and beyond. Paul’s life verse is John 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in Him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
Bruce Hawkins

Bruce joined the staff at Hillview Christian Church as the Associate Minister in June of 2016. Bruce has served in ministry in various capacities since 1991. His ministry positions have included student, lead, and elder roles. Bruce and his wife Ronda have been married for 30 years. They have lived in Southern Indiana for the last 22 years and enjoy serving right alongside the people of Crawford and surrounding counties. One of Bruce’s favorite passages is Philippians 3:12-14, “Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Darren has been in student ministry since 1998. He joined the staff at Hillview in June of 2013. Darren is married to his wife, Brenda, and they have five children - Devon, Elyssa, Walter, Emma & Gracielynn. He has a passion for native missions and has been doing mission work with the White Mountain Apache Reservation in Arizona since 2004. Hobbies include watching sports & peddling antiques/collectibles.

Allen joined the staff at Hillview Christian in 2021, after serving as the drummer on the worship team since 2018. Allen has been involved in music since the age of 14. In 2015, he gave his life to the Lord and felt the urging of the Holy Spirit to use the gifts God has granted him to serve the Lord in a worship music ministry. Allen and his wife Lisa were married in 2010, they have 5 grown children and 14 grandchildren. They both grew up in Crawford County and reside in Marengo. Allen’s life verse is John 4:29, “Come see a man who told me all things that I have done, is this not the Christ?” Allen and Lisa look forward to serving at Hillview for many years to come.

Natalie started working at Hillview as the church secretary in September 2024. However, she is no stranger to us. She served on the worship team for several years prior to her marriage to Ory. Natalie and her husband Ory have been married since May 11, 2024 and are expecting their first child in March. They currently attend and serve at Grace Tabernacle in Milltown, IN.
